Every month we’ll be featuring a short interview with one of your PPAW board members so you can learn a little bit about the team of people serving Wisconsin’s promotional community.

Meet PPAW Executive Director, Julia Jaskie! In addition to serving as your Executive Director, Julia is a Sales Executive with EvolutionHype. She’s worked in the industry for almost six years, and joined the PPAW Board in 2018 prior to becoming Executive Director.
What is your favorite promotional product?
My Contigo water bottles. I always have one around, and they’re practically indestructible.

What pets did you have while you were growing up?
Siamese cats named Runway and Copilot. (They were preceded by Pilot, and followed by Tarmac and Cessna – as you can see, my family has a theme.) Copilot was my stubborn little best friend who didn’t like anyone other than me, and Runway thought she was a dog and would like your nose if she liked you.

Would you rather go hang gliding or whitewater rafting?
Whitewater rafting. The last time I went was on the Nenana River in Denali National Park. On the class IV rapids our raft went sideways and almost flipped – it was an incredible experience! Plus I’m terrified of heights, so hang gliding sounds terrifying.

What’s the best way to start the day?
A cup of tea, a book, and hanging out with my dog on the patio.

What city would you most like to live in?
Anchorage, Alaska! Anchorage was the hub for our Alaskan honeymoon in 2019, where we drove over 1800 miles through Alaska in 14 days. The outdoor adventures surrounding the city are incredible, and the wildlife in the area is fascinating. I saw moose and a black bear in their city parks – not exactly what you’d find in Milwaukee’s parks. Plus, the 21 hours of sunlight during the peak of the summer is pretty surreal.

If you could have a never-ending candle that smelled like anything you wanted, what fragrance would you want it to be?
Bourbon vanilla. It’s one of those scents that doesn’t go out of style with the changing seasons, and it smells so good.
